I think you're Amazing - Layout Share

For this layout I used a lot of items, pretty much all of this came from kits that I got from Studio Calico.  I cut the papers in to banners and layered them as a mat for the photo and I stamped on of the arrow border stamps form Studio Calico's stamp set.  For the first embellishment cluster I layered the arrow star burst die cut along with a vellum die cut and the Nerd talk bubble at the top right of the photo. On the bottom I made another cluster by using one of the labels that came in the kit, along with one of the wood potty people,  I stamped the glasses on card stock and then made them into a flair and added another star burst die cut.  I splattered some Mister Huey's and stamped the arrows from the kit around the page and then stamped and additional color as the outline. I used some of the exclusive enamel dots made for Studio Calico from MME.

Thanks for looking!

Silly, Crazy & Wild - Sunday Sketch - Layout Share

I got an email from Studio Calico to create a layout based on one of their sketches, I of course jumped on the opportunity and loved it.

Please go check it out on their blog: Studio Calico - Sunday Sketch

When I saw this sketch I knew this one would be perfect for these pictures of my oldest daughter.  I like how the banners and sentiment provided a base for the pictures to rest on.  I added a few more banners for depth and then tucked the pictures under a banner and used diecuts to create the title, turning them all slightly, so they would sit as silly as she is in the pictures. I also really liked Maggie's doodle around the edge of the card and her arrows, but instead of using just a pen since this is a bigger scale I decided to cut one of the patter papers from the kit into to strips and then I mitered the edges together, to give it a little extra detail, then sewed around the whole thing and did a zig zag stitch on all the mitered corners.  I added the chevron pieces that I cut from another sheet of the pattern paper to follow along with her arrows that she had hand drawn.  Instead of doing the three stars like the sketch I decided to change it up a bit and use some of the brads, sequins and rhinestone stars that came in the kit to make three small clusters instead.

Ball Happy - Layout Share

I used mostly the November kit from Studio Calico but I did add in the arrows from the October kit.  This was a really fast layout, I knew I wanted something colorful but the paper was a little too bright so I cut it with my cameo into the sunburst, then I misted it with three different Mr Huey colors, white, pinstripe & shine.  They toned the color down perfectly.  I sewed the strips down in the middle with black thread and folded up the sides to give it a little depth.

If you give Kaos any type of a ball he will be in heaven, they are even better than treats for him.

Sharing some journaling cards I made....

I created a lot of my own journaling cards this year and I used them along with other papers from my stash and a core kit that I had from a previous year.  I wanted a variety, I put a lot of pictures in each week, so I used these to fill gaps and it's less I have to embellish. I usually put just a small description, so I don't need a whole lot of journaling space.

I am working on some new ones for 2013 so I figured I would share the ones I created and used in my 2012 project life book.

I hope you find some use out of them, here is what they look like, see below for a link to download the link.  I would love if you leave me a comment or just become a follower of my blog.  I have some other items to share for free in the next few weeks.  {wink wink}

Layout Share - Downtown Houston

Here's a page I completed over the weekend, I took this picture on my way downtown for a photo session and I just really liked how it turned out, the sky is just so pretty.  I wanted a page where the picture would really pop off and I think this worked.

Project Life 2012 - I'm current!

I'm excited to say that I am caught up and I am current on my weeks.  Yay me!

I haven't shared my spreads here on my blog in a long time so I figured I would share this past weeks for kicks and giggles.

I would say that 80% of my journal cards are ones I created in photoshop and printed, I am actually compiling some so that I can share them as free downloads here on my bog.  I also use a lot of my stash and left over studio calico kits as well as the Turquoise kit that I had left over from my epic fail of PL 2011.

I try to keep my spreads as simple as I can, I want it to have a little interest with a small explanation of the pictures and I want it to come together fast, so I try not to over this too much and I don't redo mistakes either.  For example the top right picture on the second page spread was all created in photoshop and it's printed with my canon selphy so it's very slick.  I tried stamping with stazon ink but it slipped but I said oh well, I wrote in the date a little with a sharpie and called it done. lol  If I want it done I don't have time to fuss over it or make it "perfect".  It's my imperfect life and this book is a good example of that.

Sorry but I got a neat email and wanted to put it in my PL album but it's not something I can share so I grayed it out.

It's been a month but I have somethings to share...

Wow, I cannot believe it has been a whole month since I blogged last, well I take that back, I can believe it, life happens after all.  I have a lot I could blog about but I'll start with what I have been up to.

November was busy and we had a great Thanksgiving...we spent some time with my family and with my husbands family.

While a I a few days off of work I got caught up on my project life album... I sat and made all my weekly cards and then spend two straight days printing pictures and catching up.  It feels awesome to be caught up.

My husband finally agreed to get rid of his Ford Explorer, it had over 250K miles on it, it was paid for but it was giving us lots of issues and it would need a fill up three times a week, it was killing us.  He agreed to trade it in and he now is a proud Toyota Camry owner.  I like driving it from time to time but I found out I enjoy driving my big Yukon more, I feel way more secure. lol

We got some really fun Texan shirts, mines black but they say the same thing.

For Thanksgiving we were two kids short but my daughter's boyfriend joined us and we all wore Texan shirts for the day....and we did win that day!  We took this picture outside of my brother home as we were leaving for food stop #2 with my husband's family.

Okay that about sums up November, I do have some layouts I want to blog but I'll be back later to do that!
